David Elam

Youth Director

David was raised in a Christian home and influenced early by his grandfather, a Baptist minister. He accepted Christ at 12 and preached his first sermon at 16. After earning degrees in Religion and Philosophy from Carson Newman College, he continued his theological studies at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he was ordained and served as Minister of Youth. Though his career path led him into sales, he has remained active in ministry. Now, he is excited to return to his calling as Minister of Youth at Salem, serving alongside his wife, Amy, to help students grow in their faith and walk with Christ.

Michael Monk

Assistant Youth Director

Michael Monk is from Houston, Texas, and previously served as a United States Marine. He and his wife, Ashleigh, are deeply committed to gospel-centered ministry, faithful biblical teaching, and intentional discipleship. Together, they desire to see students rooted in sound doctrine, shaped by the truth of Scripture, and transformed by the power of the gospel. They are passionate about helping the next generation think biblically, live courageously, and follow Christ with clarity and conviction. Outside of ministry, they enjoy surfing, shooting, and staying active as they invest intentionally in the spiritual growth of young people.

Charlotte Parker

Financial Secretary

Charlotte was born and raised in Onslow County and attended Dixon School. The Lord has blessed her with a wonderful husband of nearly 40 years and two amazing children. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 10, a decision that guided her through her teenage years and helped her avoid many of life’s pitfalls. She loves being active in the life of the church, where everyone truly becomes family. She has served as Financial Secretary since the beginning of 2025.

Cindy Morris

Church Secretary

Cindy accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at the age of 11 and has remained actively involved in the church throughout her life. From her very first visit to Salem Church, she knew she had found a warm and welcoming church family. Shortly thereafter, she began volunteering in the church office and was appointed Secretary Assistant in May 2024. In August 2024, she transitioned into the role of Secretary and Church Clerk. She considers it a blessing to serve in this capacity and looks forward to each day as an opportunity to support the ministry and mission of Salem Church.
