Serve Teams

The Usher team exists to ensure that every person has the best possible experience during their time at Salem. They greet each person that walks through the doors on Sunday mornings, help people to their seats, help people find where they are going and participate in making worship services flow. Even when you are passing out bulletins or taking up offering, the goal is to ensure that every person feels welcomed and included as they join us for worship. Volunteers on this team typically serve for one month consecutively one to two times a year. 

The Connections Team serves by seeking out people to talk with on a Sunday Morning and connect them to community and resources available at Salem Baptist.

These volunteers arrive before service on Sunday mornings with the intention of getting to know new guests, regular attenders, and members! Requirements to serve include Membership.

If you're the kind of person who has never met a stranger, this serve team might be for you!

The building and grounds team is the answer to Salem's need for property management. The team handles weekly maintenance and all of the repairs and installations to ensure that the Church is welcoming, functional, and most importantly, glorifying to God! If you are mechanically inclined or are interested in developing your renovation and repair skills, then this is the place for you to commit to serving! 

D.L. Moody said that “every great movement of God can be traced to a kneeling figure.” The Prayer Team at Salem seeks to be a committed group of kneeling figures. We exist to pursue the Lord daily in prayer, asking Him to move powerfully in and through our church to save those who don’t know Him and to grow those that do. Prayer Team operates currently in two different areas of prayer: Consecration Prayer and Response Time Prayer. Consecration Prayer time happens prior to Sunday services, asking the Lord’s manifest presence to move and to use the time for His purposes. Response Time Prayer takes place at the end of the service for those needing prayer or responding to the gospel (this is only open to members of the church - and by application only). We hope to expand the prayer team further, but need the people who are willing to faithfully serve. Our hope is to see volunteers serving 1-2 times per month.

Salem Kids exists to disciple children through relationships, teaching them the full counsel of the Word of God; furthermore, our desire is to partner with parents to help families know Christ and grow in Him. If you are interested in serving in Kids, please fill out this form. Our team serves during Sunday School at 9:45 and during our 11:00 service on Sunday mornings, Wednesday Nights for Bible Study at 6:30 and Thursday evenings at 6:00 for Women's Study.

Safety Team serves by providing a safe environment for our members and guests on Sunday mornings. This team is comprised of people who are willing to make themselves available, providing overwatch and responding quickly in the event of any sort of emergency or disturbance. Requirements to serve include active membership of Restoration Church Bryan, completion of a background check, and a willingness to serve and learn. Although not required, CPR/First Aid Training is helpful.

Our Communication Team helps implement our strategic communication strategy by working with the staff to tell the stories of our church. At this time, we are looking for a Communication Intern who would join this team, ideally a college student who is either a communication or marketing major.

Salem Baptist Youth Group is for students 7th through 12th Grade. SBYG exists in order that students would know and follow Jesus, students would be transformed by Jesus, students would live on mission for Jesus, and parents would be enabled in the discipleship of their kids. Salem Baptist Youth currently has one ministry environment: Wednesday Nights at 5:30pm

Our Budget and Finance Team is responsible for stewardship, education, budget development & administration, and accountability for giving and finances. If you have experience and/or interest in finance and have a strong sense of financial accountability and willingness to advise the Treasurer on the distribution of funds to service and ministries, then the Budget and Finance Team would be an excellent place for you to serve!

We are a Community of worshipers reflecting Christ through music and artistry for the building up of the Church. On Sunday mornings our hope is to inspire The Body to worship along with us. When scheduled, rehearsal will begin 1 hour before the Sunday service, and your commitment will last through the final service of the day. In addition to this, you are expected to put in your own personal practice time throughout the week in preparation for Sunday. Requirements to serve include Membership and involvement as well as filling out an application and auditioning. If you are musically inclined and love to worship Jesus, we'd love for you to apply!

Our Production Team serves by managing the Sound Board and Computer in which we use to run our worship services. If you are familiar with Sound Mixing or running ProPresenter, your skills and knowledge would be highly beneficial to our team. However, if you have no experience but are eager to learn a new skill, Production Team would love to have you on their team! As a member of the team, you will service on average once a month, and on your scheduled Sunday to serve you will arrive early in order to assist with set-up and help run media throughout the worship services.

Production Team's aim is to operate so smoothly they go unnoticed while creating a distraction free worship experience for each member, attender, and guest at Restoration!

We have the opportunity to document and share the amazing work of the Church, weekly worship services, and outreach to the community via social media platforms. If you like to create content and are interested in serving the Church to reach the world with the gospel, this is the team for you!
